Robert R. Thompson (R.R.)

Indeed, the elder R. R. acquired 2,500 acres of farmland a few miles west of Carlton, property his son Lewis, father of the younger R. R., took charge of and later acquired.
     R. R. Thompson, builder of the Thompson House, and his wife were prominent members of the Yamhill County social scene, hosting many parties in their beautiful home. In the years since the Thompsons lived in the home, remarkably, the home has only known three owners. Equally surprising, no children have been raised in the home.
Roselyn and Mike, the current owners, opened the historic home to guests in the summer of 2007 under the name R. R. Thompson House Bed and Breakfast. The house has been refurbished to offer guests the most modern of conveniences and amenities while the historic charm and character have been maintained.
