A Lavender Bouquet

They are a pale tint of violet and their fragrance is almost intoxicating.  Lavender!  Each year lovers of lavender await the season and with it the Yamhill Lavender Festival and Plein Air Art Show.  The dates this year are Saturday, July 10 and Sunday, July 11.  Spend the weekend in Yamhill County and enjoy a stay at our Carlton bed and breakfast, just minutes from the town of Yamhill and the art show.

The Yamhill event is part of the greater Oregon Lavender Festival.  Visit lavender farms and cut some for yourself to take home — sissors and a basket are provided.  Enjoy live music, art, handmade crafts and plants at Beulah Park, just off Highway 47 on the corner of Hemlock and 3rd Streets in Yamhill.

Wander among the juried art work at the park, depicting glorious lavender — each from an artist’s unique perspective.  Artists from around the Northwest paint their works in the two-week period prior to the festival.  You can also learn how to make lavender crafts.

Money raised at the Yamhill festival goes to organizations such as the YC School District and Girl and Boy Scouts.
